Beautiful 1800's - 1900's French religious icon. Darling metal frame with the perfect patina. I have not cleaned this piece as I just love the "Faded Gandeur" look. This piece measures 4.5" x 6.5" and is FABULOUS condition. It is another great find. I DID NOT take it apart to see what it was. I think the frame is from the 1800's. The front is not glass. It is a clear celluloid type piece. The "Reine des martyres" prayer card in stamped in indigo blue but I am not sure what that means? There seems to be a prayer as well and I can't see a date on this one. This one is all over the board but people learned to "Make-Do" with what they had. Either way it is a lovely find. Three of the original metal prongs are still in place and it looks like there is a script piece that has been glues holding down the side missing the prongs. The piece hangs with the hole at the top and is overall just a darling piece of history.
