Beautiful antique French sewing case fitted with original sewing tools circa the late 1800s. I absolutely love this sewing case. It has a black exterior with a yellow silk and velvet interior. Inside the case, there are sewing necessities that are beautifully decorated in elegant patterned styling. Comprising of the needle case, scissors, thimble, bodkin (ribbon-threading needle), and stiletto. All are housed within the original velvet-lined fitted presentation box. The box is in excellent condition, and the original hinges and closure mechanism work perfectly. The case measures 5" x 3" x 1". This is a darling original piece in fantastic condition. We purchased this case from a private sewering collector in Provence with a large collection of threads, notions, and textiles.
