ORIGINAL and beautiful antique English oil painting of Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva in Switzerland. I purchased this piece in Rhyl England and it is dated circa the 1880's. The Oil painting is painted on prepared mill board with a gesso layer on top from Winsor & Newton. Prepared mill board simply heavy duty cardboard made by pasting thin sheets of paper together to make a painting surface. Once that is done a layer of Gesso can be applied and then you are ready to point. The painting is not signed by the artist but this is an original piece, produced using oil painting techniques. It is a one-of-a-kind item that would make a great addition to any art collection. This piece is just lovely and our pictures do not do it justice. The overall dimensions are 10" x 13.5". This truly is a stunning piece.
