Wonderful 1777 Papier Dominote book in red, white and blue striped pattern. "Domino' printed paper is decorated paper. The patterns having been printed using a wood block with color applied using a paintbrush or stencil. In France, these sheets of paper decorated with geometric or floral patterns peaked in popularity during the second half of the XVIIIth century. The patterns remain popular today and are considered extremely collectible items. This antique book is 246 years old. It measures approximately 5.5” x 9” with 430 pages. It is in good condition given it's age and these are getting harder and harder to find. This is an original from France. This is not a reproduction.
