Beautiful antique French blue and red striped creamy linen/hemp household towels from the 1800s. Soft but durable, these towels will last forever with the proper care. All of these towels need washing as these are right out of a cupboard from an old French farmhouse. We acquired a large lot from one dealer. I also purchased some of these for our stitchers as they are perfect for any needlework projects and can be used as towels. Each one of these has a loop hanger.
To clean hemp, linen, or nettle, wash in your washing machine with soap and warm water. Once removed from the washing machine, snap out any wrinkles. Hang to dry and then press with a hot iron. The more these fibers are washed, the softer they become.
