Beautiful antique onyx art deco fob/seal/pendant. The stone is a beautifully cut domed oval oval measuring .75" long x .50" wide. The frame comprises decorative fleur-de-lis on both sides that meet at a fixed apical finial. An additional loop would need to be added through which a necklace can pass, to be worn around the neck. The metal is yellow or gilt. Gilding is the process of applying a thin layer of gold to a surface, such as metal, wood, porcelain, or stone. Gold is often applied by hand or through a chemical or electro-deposition process.
This is a beautiful antique seal pendant. I purchased this piece as part of a private collector collection. This is a true gem for both collectors and antique jewelry enthusiasts. This piece is in wonderful condition given its age. Perfect to use and wear on a chain as a pendant.
