A beautiful large 19th century French ormolu cartouche mount or cache clous for a large picture. Superbly cast, heavyweight and wonderful quality. The maker's mark impressed into the back. Could top an armoire or mirror and could be a great starting point for a bed hangings project. The overall piece is 6" x 8" and the patina is perfect. There are plenty of ways to hang this piece although it looks fantastic as a leaning piece as well. This is an original from France and not a reproduction.
