Beautiful 1800s antique French to early 1800's frames religious picture. This engraving has been beautifully placed in a green and gold mat. The frame is gilt wood with a beautiful patina. The angel engraving reads at the upper right top, Tom B. Titre. The bottom right reads A. Duflos Sculp. The bottom left reads Coipel inv. The engraving is of two angels. One with wings expanded above an altar and the other leaning on the altar in thought. The color on this piece has not faded, and the glass is intact. The gilt frame has been careworn and chipped over time, and the back is perfect, covered in brown paper. The original hook hanger is gone, but an eye hook is in its place. How this piece has survived with the glass intact for over 125 years is beyond me. It is a little dusty and needs a good cleaning with a soft brush. The engraving is in wonderful condition, and the piece measures 10" x 7.5" x .40". Another amazing antique from France.
