Sometimes things come to me from Europe and I am mesmerized by the “why” I will never know. These medals on the rosary and medals on parts of a rosary are a perfect example. Why were the extra medals added? Were the rosary pieces part of a special family rosary? For me there will always be a question behind the question when it comes to these types of finds. This French rosary has carved wooden beads with two added medals. It appears that someone also added additional thread through the rosary. Possiby for fear it might come apart? It is a solid piece so I am not sure what the thread was for? This rosary with medals is sold as is. This is an old piece sold as found. I did not clean it. Wear commensurate with age.
