Beautiful Victorian gilt metal fob seal pendant with a carved thistle and the Scottish phrase "Dinna Forget" engraved on it. The phrase was often used in courting in Scotland, meaning do not forget me. The thistle meant strength in adversity, and overcoming difficult situations. The stone in this seal looks to be a dark amber mounted in a gilt metal stem with a loop on the top for a hanging. There is an ornate stem and at the at the top there is a hole through which a necklace can pass so it can be worn around the neck. This is a beautiful antique seal pendant. A true gem for both collectors and antique jewelry enthusiasts. It is approximately .50" in diameter and sits at about .80" tall. This piece is in wonderful condition given its age and it truly is a rare find.
